Let's go right to the video, because this campaign ad Dan Crenshaw just released needs to be seen to be believed. Maybe hanging out with Captain America has gone to his head. But I'm more excited for "Texas Reloaded" now than I am for anything Marvel has coming on Phase ... um, Phase whatever phase of releases they are up to.

It's a little over the top. Okay, so it's a lot over the top. If you're already at the top, look up and you'll see Crenshaw plummeting toward you before he pulls the rip cord. But that's also the brilliance. Because in order for a campaign ad to work, it needs to cut through eleventy hundred other campaign ads. In order for an ad to work AND reach unengaged, apolitical people, it needs to cut through AND go viral into the mainstream. Crenshaw knows that firsthand, because going viral is the reason we heard of him in the first place (see DAN CRENSHAW APPEARS ON SNL'S 'WEEKEND UPDATE' TO ROAST PETE DAVIDSON and DAN CRENSHAW ON OUTRAGE AND NOT LOSING OUR SENSE OF HUMOR).

This is the type of video people will share because of how over the top it is. Even if they are mocking it while sharing, they are sharing it and people are watching it. Five badass-looking candidates who at first glance, you wouldn't know are Republican since the Republican Party isn't generally known for doing anything this cool.
