You may not know this, but Will Smith assaulted Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars this year. Maybe you haven't logged on to the internet the entire time. That must be nice. But yeah. Live on stage, in front of an audience of millions, Smith treated Rock like Uncle Phil used to treat Jazz. Not many had his back, but the actor identified one man who did: Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Well, Mayweather, and everyone at the Oscars who gave him a standing ovation after watching him assault a man.

And, yes. It's the same Mayweather known for beating his girlfriends. Will Smith left that part out at a private screening for his movie Emancipation.

The day after the Oscars, for 10 days he called me every day. And he was like, "Hey, you know you the champ, right? You good? You know you the champ, right? I want you to hear my voice say it." That was every day he called me, and it’s like, that’s my dude forever right there."

Will Smith's forever dude has been accused of violence against women with alarming frequency.

He pleaded guilty in two of those incidents, and in another, he was convicted only to have the charges dismissed four years later. [One incident], in which he hit his ex-girlfriend in front of two of their children at 5 a.m. in 2010, resulted in a 90-day prison sentence.'

Mayweather has also partied with Joe Biden's brother in the past. It has nothing to do with this story. I just think it's funny.

In March, Chris Rock made a joke about a movie at the Oscars that Will Smith found funny. The rub is that Will Smith's wife didn't find it funny, so Smith assaulted Rock on stage. Smith's wife found THAT funny, even though she is a "strong woman" who "didn't" want her husband to do that. The Grown-Ups were activated. Jokes were made. And four months later, Will Smith posted a lame-ass apology.
