Speaking with CBS News Sacramento, Congressman Eric Swalwell, who is running to replace Gov. Gavin Newsom, claims he doesn’t believe Newsom made any missteps. It is unclear what world he lives in, as Newsom has been making mistakes since before he became governor, but if that is the hill he wishes to die on, then so be it.

I'm saying we will do things differently, but right now, Californians are pretty lucky to have Gavin Newsom as the protector that he is.

You don't even need to live in the state to name at least 10 things the governor failed at. Just at the top of my head, I can think of the homelessness epidemic, high gas prices, and some of California's most disastrous and preventable fires in state history. Is there really nothing there he would have done differently?

This does not even begin to touch on the current hospice fraud investigations that have been uncovered. Maybe Swalwell can start there, but he won't, as he promises to deliver more of the same.

The reporter even gave him a second chance to answer the question, as he was the ONLY candidate who called Newsom perfect. Rather than come up with one or two things, he doubled down, as he vows to offer Californians nothing but Newsom 2.0.

Additionally, the fact that he used the state's response to the 2025 Jan. fires is astonishing. No one in the history of the world thinks state officials acted properly in that response, and some have even claimed it was preventable. He really could not do any better than that?

If you thought Newsom was bad, California might just get 10 times worse. The fact that this is possible is a scandal in itself.
