Judge releases man with 35 priors...just so he can get arrested on 27 new felony charges

A judge wanted to release a 35-time offender on electronic monitoring. Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahil said this would jeopardize the safety of the public because of prior “bench warrants, failures to appear in court, and violations of the department’s program.” Las Vegas Police lost this battle, and Las Vegas Justice Court Judge Eric Goodman, who ordered the release of 36-year-old Joshua Sanchez-Lopez, won. And in a painfully predictable turn of events, the suspect was arrested for a 36th time, and is now facing 27 new felony charges.

According to 8 News Now:
Las Vegas Metro police re-arrested a 35-time offender on Wednesday, weeks after a judge ordered his release to electronic monitoring despite the sheriff’s refusal, the 8 News Now Investigators have learned.
Sanchez-Lopez is a convicted felon who most recently served prison time on drug and involuntary manslaughter charges, according to records. In court paperwork filed with the Nevada Supreme Court, Metro said his record includes 35 arrests.
On Wednesday, Metro arrested Sanchez-Lopez for the 36th time, the 8 News Now Investigators first reported. According to the department, officers found him with a shaved mail key, fraudulent ID and credit cards, and methamphetamine. Officers arrested Sanchez-Lopez during a traffic stop on Boulder Highway near Desert Inn Road after a complaint of a man going through mailboxes at an apartment complex.
There is a program where defendants are released and placed on electronic monitoring. The problem is that the suspect was previously enrolled in this program and violated the rules.

“I don’t know how else to bring this to the public’s attention — and the judge’s attention — that I cannot effectively supervise these people when they ask me to put them out on electronic monitoring,” McMahill said.
According to court records, Sanchez-Lopez faces 27 new felony charges, including obtaining or possessing a credit or debit card without a cardholder’s consent, mail theft and child abuse.
How much more proof does the judge need to realize this man is a threat to public safety? Most people go their whole lives without incurring a charge, yet he manages to rack them up simply by breathing. There is nothing else that can be done. He has proven over 36 times now that he does not wish to follow the law. Why the left demands time and again that these people just need one more chance to realize their full potential is beyond reason.
Maybe one day progressive officials will fight for you the way they hand out 36-second chances, but don't hold your breath, as they fight for criminal rights, over public safety, with no accountability for the threat they continue to wreak on the public.
LVMP posted on Instagram, "What’s predictable is preventable." That pretty sums this all up, doesn't it?
