Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself) have worked very hard to claim they don't give taxpayer-funded healthcare to illegal immigrants. Or, any taxpayer-funded benefits, really. They do a lot of arguing semantics and nitpicking over rhetoric, and doing both in bad faith. AKA "independent" "fact" checking. Well, California gubernatorial candidate Katie Porter just treated the op as if it were her ex-husband and she was holding a pot of mashed potatoes.

There was a debate this week with Porter and the other candidates running for California governor. The question of giving free healthcare (aka, paid for by taxpayers) to illegal immigrants came up. Porter, like the other Democrats on stage, was all about it.

Yes. And that's what I think Californians deserve as answers to these questions.

She has a point. If I were a Californian, I would want to know a clear "yes" so I knew not to vote for that person.

Porter, helpfully, doubled down when Fox News created content out of her answer.

Here's the funniest part. It's not that she just exposed the lie that democrats want to and/or are already giving illegals taxpayer-funded health care. I know that you know that I know that you already knew that. But the bigger lie that the media and the left (but I repeat myself) are telling this midterms season is that democrats are moderate. They all learned their lessons from the past few years about admitting their far-left agenda out loud. They're all totes focused on cost of living, unless that isn't the talking point this week.

What's the first thing Porter did when running against other democrats? Ran to the hard left.

It wasn't enough to just let her answer about giving your taxpayer dollars to illegal immigrants, while you struggle to pay your own healthcare costs thanks to ObamaCare exploding those costs, stand on it's own.

She doubled down to make sure you knew she approved of the message about doing so with your money. If I were to guess, her opponents will now find ways to out-leftist her.

I'd be curious to know what the "moderate" Democrat running where you live thinks. After all, as Katie Porter says, you deserve a simple yes or no answer.
