Democrat official claims Pride flag more relatable than the normal American flag because, quote, “I wasn't even born here”

Isabel Mata is a Lynnwood City Councilwoman. She was not born here. She is woke. And she may or may not identify under the LGBT rainbow. For these reasons, she finds it much more relatable to fly a Pride Flag than an American flag, despite being an elected official representing the American citizens of Lynnwood, Washington.
The city has a flag park named Wilcox Park, where 27 American flags are on display to "represent the 13 original colonies and the incorporation of states." This should not be controversial. However, Mata believes other flags would be more appropriate to fly at Wilcox -- such as a rainbow one.
Per the transcript from Seattle Red:
To me, a pride flag is way more relatable than an American flag. I would not raise an American flag at my house because I wouldn’t…I wasn’t even born here. But I would raise a pride flag. And as the most diverse city in all of Snohomish County, I don’t think that I’m the only one who…who would maybe choose to have 27 other flags in Flag Park.
Does this park represent the values that were here in the 1960s when they established this park?
Do we hold those same values now, and are they representative of Lynnwood as we see it today?
What values enshrined in our founding documents does she have a problem with? The one where everyone is created equal? The one that gave her the right to vote? The one where she is allowed to say asinine nonsense like this and not be silenced into oblivion? Surely, she has an example of this “value” she wishes to get rid of, right?
No -- the answer is no. She cannot specify which values she has a problem with because she does not understand what she is talking about. She makes things up by parroting back portions of leftist talking points, without having a clue what any of it means.
To be fair, though, she could also be an evil person who truly hates this country, but as of writing this, we will give her the benefit of the doubt (not that she deserves it) and conclude she has the IQ of a goldfish.
Because if we’re having this issue of we have so many things that we want to represent, this community is filled with so many beautiful cultures and diverse backgrounds and all of these things, yet we have 27 iterations of the same flag, some representing parts of American history that, frankly, are not great.
Did you think it was possible to be this stupid? The only thing controversial in this story is the fact that someone that stupid was elected to serve the people of the city in the first place. And to call her a disgrace would be an understatement.
