Abdullah is wanted for questioning in relation to the murder of 48-year-old Daniel Enriquez, who was on his way to brunch. Abdullah is alleged to have, without provocation, pulled out a gun and fired at the victim at close range.
Griselda Vile, Enriquez's sister, spoke out over the weekend calling for Mayor Eric Adams to do his damn job. She doesn't have much hope, though. “And the worst part is, even if they catch this person, he’s going to be out again,” a reference to New York's bail reform laws critics point to as a key reason for New York's crime wave.
“I wish you guys would go back to Mayor Adams and tell him the city is not safe. My brother just became a statistic on the way to the city. He was shot at close range.”
Mayor Eric Adams is rumored to be considering a presidential run in 2024. While crime has been rampant, he has been busy calling for abortion up until birth and launching a campaign against Florida. Adams also recently stated he is afraid to ride the subway himself.
