I’d like to point out that the world is an objective place, and much of what we see and interact with on a daily basis doesn’t require a PhD to understand. So when a nominee to the Supreme Court is unable to give a layperson’s answer to the concept of “woman,” perhaps she isn’t the type of person who should be sitting on the high court, or any bench, for that matter.

Tuesday was the second day of Ketanji Brown Jackson’s confirmation hearings, and when asked by Senator Marsha Blackburn, “Can you provide a definition for the word ‘woman’?” Jackson either wasn’t intelligent enough to provide said definition or, option B, she’s fearful of the reaction from the far left if she were to provide said definition.

“Can I provide a definition? No, I can’t. […] I’m not a biologist.”

Perhaps Jackson would benefit from a conversation with this woman, who had the perfect response to the people who believe one must have studied biology for years just to say what a woman is. Perhaps if she was asked what a “birthing person” is she would have been more forthcoming with her answer. Or maybe “menstruators.”

While the left is going to call this line of questioning petty, maybe say Blackburn is just trying to taint the proceedings with culture war arguments, it’s actually extremely important. If Jackson is unable to provide an objective definition for something so fundamental, how are we to trust that she will be objective on the bench? The answer is we can’t.

There were already reasons why Jackson should never be allowed to sit on the Supreme Court. Her writings going back decades are one. Her history of rulings and sentencing—or lack thereof—is another. And we can go ahead and add this little tidbit to the list, as well.

This country needs objective jurists manning the bench of our highest court, especially as the country seems to completely lose touch with the same objective reality Jackson ostensibly rejects with her answer here.

Jackson’s confirmation hearings take place with the backdrop of the NCAA women’s swimming controversy playing out in headlines from coast to coast, with new outlets chugging so much of the leftist koolaid that they can’t even tell what a female is anymore, either!

Note the scare quotes around the word female! We live in a world in which an actual woman, a verifiably female person is categorized with female in quotations but transgender is represented as being wholly objective. How absurd.

This is why the question to Jackson is so important. I wouldn’t ask for an objective opinion from the morons at the Orlando Sentinel, and it’s impossible to ask Jackson for an objective ruling if she’s drinking from the same punch bowl.
