I've been a Marco Rubio fan since he was the Florida Speaker of the House. He was my pick for president in 2016. I can admit that now that we're all friends again, and he's widely regarded as Donald Trump's best hire. So for me, Rubio has always been this good. And looking back at his viral clip from 2015, which predicted everything that has happened with Iran since, is Exhibit Q.
He's talking about the infamous Barack Obama "pallets of cash" deal with Iran.

Not to be confused with the $6 Billion that the People Who Controlled Joe Biden Adminstration gave Iran, and then later admitted that Iran probably used the money to do terrorism. Here's Rubio from 2015...
Everything that needs to be said about the details of this deal has already been said. I want it recorded for history: Iran will use sanctions relief money to build the dominant military outside the US, anti-access weapons, fast boats, and terror proxies targeting Americans—raising the cost of their nuclear path. Like North Korea today, they'll reach immunity as a nuclear power led by an apocalyptic Shia cleric seeking Muslim vs. non-Muslim conflict. We can't let this happen. America has no supreme leader—we're a republic. I pray our next leaders reverse this deal, reimpose sanctions, and back it with military force, or history will condemn us.
It'll make for an interesting moment when Netflix releases its biopic of Marcus Rubio, the DEMOCRAT Secretary of State who spoke out against Trump giving pallets of cash...

Much like Donald Trump, Rubio understood the threat Iran poses. Or, I guess at this point, posed. It could be why Trump chose Rubio to be his Secretary of State, given their close alignment on foreign policy.
As for what's going on in 2026, I'm with Crowder and say give the Trump Admin three months. When it comes to foreign policy, they've earned as much of our trust as should be given to any politician. But just for now. For the next three months.
