I'm going to mind my language and not refer to Miss Faye as a bad[expletive]. Out of respect, and also out of fear she would whack me with her cane for using the Lord's name in vain. Though, for a great-grandmother to see a violent thug mugging one of her neighbors and her first instinct is to grab her cane and run at him, bad[expletive] is the perfect way to describe her.

We're back to Oakland.

Miss Faye saw what she thought was a rideshare dropping someone off. That's when she saw someone jump out of the car and attack her late-70s neighbor. First, she tried to sic her German Shepherd on the thug, but the dog was in the backyard. So Miss Faye went with Plan B. Grabbing her cane, running out of the house, and banging on the car until the thug dropped her neighbor's purse.

Miss Faye is only sorry her knees were acting up. She would have gotten out of the house faster.

I never thought about it. Fear never crossed my mind, 'cause I'm crazy I guess. I don't know. It's just something that's in my nature. I do things, and it doesn't bother me until a couple hours later. That's how I've always been.

God bless you, Miss Faye. For the rest of your life, they better make sure you are sitting front row at Bingo and get escorted to the front of the line at every church pancake breakfast.
