A new report shows that Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez spent nearly $19,000 of campaign money on something bizarre — a mental health professional who specializes in ketamine therapy. Today’s show breaks it down.

According to the New York Post:

The socialist lawmaker hired Boston-based Dr. Brian Boyle, the chief psychiatric officer at Stella, a chain of mental health clinics focusing on “novel” therapies popular with Hollywood and Wall Street.

Despite being a self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist, AOC presents zero issues with “spending top dollar when it relates to her own private healthcare,” Crowder said.

Her campaign paid Boyle $11,550 in March 2025, another $2,800 in May, and $4,375 in October for a total of $18,725, Federal Election Commission records show.

The expenses were marked as “leadership training and consulting.”

It’s unclear what the sessions consisted of or who participated. Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign did not respond to requests for comment.

This is not the only questionable expense for which AOC has used campaign funds. Last fall, AOC spent nearly $2,000 on a celebrity makeup artist, "whose clients include Bad Bunny and Bella Hadid."

“For a Socialist, this is one of those things that people would consider nonessential,” Crowder said.

In another incident, AOC had to return $3,000 for “gifts during her appearance at the 2021 Met Gala—including her white dress with the phrase, ‘Tax the Rich.’”

“It is easy to point out hypocrisy — everyone is a hypocrite. It is that she does not believe it. I guarantee you, if you look through charitable contributions, they are significantly lower than those of Republican, Christian middle-class Conservatives. I guarantee you. Statistically, that is a very safe bet,” Crowder said.
