We've discussed the hearings examining allegations of possible election fraud, based on investigations conducted by the Trump campaign. This story is separate from the hearings. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing four states, alleging they used the pandemic to ignore election laws. And he's going right to the Supreme Court.

Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin destroyed that trust and compromised the security and integrity of the 2020 election. The states violated statutes enacted by their duly elected legislatures, thereby violating the Constitution. By ignoring both state and federal law, these states have not only tainted the integrity of their own citizens' vote, but of Texas and every other state that held lawful elections. Their failure to abide by the rule of law casts a dark shadow of doubt over the outcome of the entire election. We now ask that the Supreme Court step in to correct this egregious error.

This story is developing, so a lot is still up in the air. No word on if SCOTUS will hear the case. Media will likely write the suit off as anti-democratic grandstanding. Facebook probably has an election notice under this post right now, urging Facebook users to click their link to get the latest on 2020 election claims. Fine. Whatever. But this particular story is that the Texas attorney general filed a suit with the Supreme Court. That is factual, regardless of how the purple-haired "fact" "checkers" feel about the people involved. Also, that last line used sarcasm and artistic license. I have no way of knowing what color hair they have.

How many of us thought this entire brouhaha would head to the Supreme Court, one way or the other? Probably a lot. Is this the case that takes the election there? Stay tuned!
