Vietnamese immigrant explains to Somalis how America works, mocks Minneapolis mayor for apologizing to “crooked pirates”

There are approximately 1.2 million Vietnamese immigrants in the United States. Many of them are business owners, doctors, engineers, and have a slightly lower poverty rate than the national average. About four percent of Asian Americans are on SNAP benefits. What does this mean, you ask? Well, this group of immigrants is more likely to give back to their communities than take. The same cannot be said for the Somali community in Minnesota.
According to some reports, the Somali community in Minnesota has a poverty rate of nearly 60%, 42% are on food stamps, and 40% are unemployed. What does this mean, you ask? Well, some may argue that this group of immigrants may be more likely to have a net negative effect when it comes to giving back to their community. That is up for you to decide.
Minnesota’s Somali population, by the numbers:
Poverty: 58%
Food stamps: 42%
Unemployed: 40%
No high school education: 41%
At least $1B in fraud, waste, and abuse.

This may also be why one Vietnamese TikToker seems to be fed up with this community demanding everything and anything while refusing to assimilate, as if they hadn’t fled a third-world country.

This is not the first time the mayor has come under fire for speaking Somali, and it won’t be the last.

According to a Nov. New York Post article, “Newly re-elected Minneapolis Democratic Mayor Jacob Frey is facing backlash from conservatives for giving a victory speech in Somali and saying that Minneapolis welcomes Somalians.”

In case it was not clear to Frey, this is America. And in America, we speak English. The fact that many Somalians refuse to learn it is nothing more than a personal problem that deserves no pandering. Unfortunately for the people who actually love this country and don’t want to turn it into a third-world mess, this is the best we might be getting.
