YOU CAN’T MAKE THIS UP:
Illinois Gov. Pritzker blames Trump for stirring up political violence, then tells CNN’s Manu Raju he shouldn’t dig up examples of Democrats’ dangerous rhetoric in light of the most recent assassination attempt against the president.

Speaking with CNN’s Manu Raju, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker discussed political violence in America after the shooting at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. The problem with his remarks is that he decided to blame the president, despite this being the third assassination attempt on his life. Rather than call out the left, which is the side largely responsible for much of the political violence in this country, he decided to slander Conservatives, as he failed to acknowledge any form of self-reflection.
According to Pritzker, it is the president who calls for political violence against the other side, so much so that he has called for jailing his political opponents. The problem with this, however, is that reality proves otherwise, so much so that the level of projection in his remarks is unbelievable.
He said all of this and failed to acknowledge any of the past 100 times he called Trump a Nazi.
During the State Budget Address, Pritzker said, he did not “invoke the specter of Nazis lightly,” adding that “It took the Nazis one month, three weeks, two days, eight hours and 40 minutes to dismantle a constitutional republic.”
“All I’m saying is that when the five-alarm fire starts to burn, every good person better be ready to man a post with a bucket of water if you want to stop it from getting out of control. Tyranny requires your fear and your silence and your compliance. Democracy requires your courage. So gather your justice and humanity, Illinois, and do not let the tragic spirit of despair overcome us when our country needs us the most.”
To claim that rhetoric like this contributes to the radicalization of people like the shooter would be an understatement. And when he was called out on these asinine remarks, he doubled down, claiming that “the institutions of this democracy are being attacked by the Republicans and by Donald Trump.”
Not only does he fail to provide any evidence to back up these claims, because there is none, but he doubled down on the very remarks that contribute to the political violence in the first place.
When you constantly slander the other side solely because you disagree with them, so much so that you call half the country Nazi’s, that does not tend to put you on the right side of history. And to call that a threat to the republic would be an understatement.
