Because most people will never be able to claim they survived an attempted assassination attempt, it is a fair assessment to conclude that we cannot assume how we would act under that pressure. Nonetheless, most people took cover under tables, as they felt this was the safest way to handle the situation. And when I say most, this means not all. One of the people not included in this group is Michael Glantz, an agent at Creative Artists Agency and self-described “New Yorker.”
Footage of the man who remained in his seat and continued to eat his dinner during the WHCD assassination attempt went viral over the weekend. That man was Glantz, and he has shed some light on why he acted the way he did.

Firstly, he wanted to enjoy the show, as not every day do you witness an attempted assassination on the President of the United States. Secondly, his back is not in the best shape. Subsequently, had he done what everyone else was doing, it would have been much harder for him to get up. Lastly, but probably more importantly, he is a germophobe. There was zero chance he was going to ruin his new suit, all because of an attempted assassination.
He credits his fearless mentality to being a New Yorker, where sirens and shootings are part of everyday life. And to claim this man has a point would be an understanding. He believed the authorities had the situation under control, which is why he never thought his life was in danger. Subsequently, why would you dirty your suit by lying on the hotel floor if you believed everything was going to be okay?
The only question still unanswered is: How was the salad? Hopefully, we will get this answer soon.
