So, I guess it’s Teacher Appreciation Week. I wish we lived in a world and a country where one could actually appreciate teachers. But we live in the United States in a world that’s completely lost its ever-loving mind, and there are too many teachers out grooming children to appreciate the group as a whole.

There’s really no other way to categorize this awful combination of wigs, glow sticks, and revealing clothing. It’s a train wreck, complete with unsettling contorted human bodies and screaming. Okay, maybe I’m just the one screaming. I’m sure there were some students screaming on the inside, too.

This actually occurred. And it isn’t the first time, either! This one took place at a school in Pennsylvania.

The teacher posted online: “I don’t know how to explain the sheer joy i [sic] feel in my bones when these queens come take time out of their busy schedules to perform for us (year 3!) and to be with me students. as [sic] GSA co-advisor and a queer teacher, it make me emotional to think of this space we have created.”

Wait… year 3?! This has been going on for three years?! It was unacceptable when it was just the one time!

Furthermore, no parents were notified. Not a single parent had to provide permission to attend the event, and it was open to all students!

The school district didn’t like the first storm of parental anger when news of this event made the rounds. The Hempfield School District put out a statement saying they were investigating the situation, which took place on April 25. They said, “We are appalled at what took place and in no way condone this type of activity in our schools. Neither the dress of the invited guests nor the performance was appropriate in our school setting.”

I can’t take this seriously, though. There’s no way this has been going on for several years without the district knowing about it. They aren’t appalled. They are just annoyed with the parents who are appalled.

They’ve decided to act because they don’t want any further heat from parents, and they’ve put the teacher on leave as a sacrifice. They would have allowed this to continue had no one spoken up. And the fact that the teacher wasn’t summarily terminated is insane. It’s on video, you f*cking morons?!

If you cannot call this crap grooming, I don’t know what you call it. Can we stop pretending our public schools serve any purpose aside from corrupting students?
