Wild airport brawl leads to Spirit Airlines employee getting suspended for defending himself
Spirit Airlines is considered by critics to be among the worst of the airlines. They don't believe in the First Amendment. Then there are incidences like this, where a disagreement over a seat leads to agents brawling with angry passengers.
Though, the passenger was the clear aggressor here. She threw the first punch and forced the agent to do what he had to do.
BizPacReview reports this started as an argument over a seat. The woman got off the plane because she said there were no seats left. She was told to wait in line but cut everyone and became uncooperative. That's according to the statement given to the police by the agent. Police had to get involved once the argument turned physical.
The woman was warned multiple times to keep her hands off the agent. Instead of calming down, the woman screamed, “Get out of my face, you f*cking f*gg*t.” So, not only can the woman not keep her hands to herself, but she is also intolerant. As the argument was trying to be de-escalated by another passenger, the woman sucker-punched the agent, and things popped off.
Spirit Airlines issued a statement siding with the angry homophobic customer and suspended their agent who was left with no other options.
We are aware of this altercation. Our vendor at DFW has suspended the agent. Spirit Airlines does not tolerate violence of any kind, and we are working with local law enforcement to investigate this matter.

The true MVP in this ordeal is Thomas Shannon. Thomas was enjoying a meal at Panda Express at the time of the incident. "I drop my food, and my instinct is to pull out the camera and start recording."
Always go with that instinct, friends. Always go with that instinct.
