Things are just getting worse and worse for California Gov. candidate Katie Porter.
The thing is, in politics, you can’t be fat and mean—especially when that’s combined with arrogance. No one likes a know-it-all, and in today’s climate, the public reacts poorly when leaders treat others like subhumans. So, while it’s perhaps unsurprising that Katie Porter sometimes loses her temper over things most people wouldn’t even notice, she wants to be the most powerful person in one of the largest states in the best nation in the world. Because of that, she must be held to the highest level of scrutiny.
According to Politico:
A newly surfaced video shows Katie Porter — the frontrunner in next year’s race for California governor — blasting a staffer who interrupted a meeting the former House member was taping for the Biden administration.
“Get out of my fucking shot!” Porter said after the employee came into view.
Is there really a reason her point couldn’t have been made by politely asking the young woman to step out of the shot? Was it truly that serious that she felt the need to throw a tantrum? My goodness—I can only imagine how she would act if elected. The arrogance would be overwhelming, to say the very least.
Video of the exchange, exclusively obtained by POLITICO Wednesday, shows an online conversation between Porter and then-Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm in July 2021. Several minutes in, Porter’s staffer interjected to correct something the Democratic representative had said about electric vehicles. Porter then reprimanded her employee, who had also previously appeared periodically in the background during the recording.
“You also were in my shot before that. Stay out of my shot,” Porter said.
This is not new behavior for her. In fact, this seems to be her version of being well-mannered.
According to a 2023 New York Post article, “The former husband of Rep. Katie Porter said the California Democrat frequently abused him verbally and threw “toys, books and other objects” at him during their marriage — even pouring scalding-hot mashed potatoes on his head during a fight, according to divorce records.”
Well, that explains why she’s a so-called “single mom.” I can’t think of anything more unbearable than being in a room with her, let alone living with her. Nonetheless, she has proven time and again that she is not fit to hold public office. And the worst part? It wouldn’t be the least bit surprising if voters elected her—but, fortunately, as of now, that looks very, very unlikely.
If voters truly want to make California great again, they should run far, far, far away from this woman.
