NY Governor BEGS rich people chased out of New York to come back to help fund her woke social agenda

Kathy Hochul making a weak plea for wealthy people who have left New York (to red states like Florida) to come back to pay their high taxes to fund failing (unaccountable) social programs:

Can Nick Shirley check in on New York next?
For the side that demands the government fund all things, they sure have trouble keeping up with the “generous” social programs they already have.
Speaking at the Politico Summit in Albany on March 11, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul begged high-net-worth former New Yorkers to move back to the state to help fund the government's social programs, which are struggling.
I need people who are high-net-worth to support the generous social programs that we want to have in our state. Right?
Let's get this straight. She wants people who work hard for their money to stay in New York, solely to fund other expenses, while getting nothing in return. Call me crazy, but for an agreement to be mutually beneficial, don't both sides have to benefit from it?
Now, there are some patriotic millionaires who stepped up. Okay, cut me the checks.
She wants regular citizens to “cut” the government “a check.” That is not how these things work. Why would anyone move back to New York solely to give the government more money? This woman is what the younger generation would call “delulu.”
If you want to be supportive, maybe the first step should be to go down to Palm Beach and see who we can bring back home because our tax base has been eroded.
Again, where is the benefit of leaving a state with no income tax, to throw away 10% of their income for an incompetent system that provides nothing beneficial for the people? The math is not adding up here.
So I philosophically don't have a problem, I have to look at the fact that we are in competition with other states who have less of a tax burden on their corporations and their individuals. And I would say remote work changed everything. There were people who could only work in an office in Manhattan or work in New York State and they were captives to our state. They were going to stay. We saw that that's not the case. Wall Street, businesses looking at Texas? They're not going there because they have a nicer governor, I know that for sure, but they're going there because of the tax rate. We have to be smart about this. But we can fund what we want to fund with what we already are taking in.
If she truly wants more wealthy residents to live in the state, she should start looking at ways to attract people. Begging for the sole purpose of benefiting the government won't get her what she wants, and it proves just how out of touch leftist politicians are.
Ironically, New York City is considering raising property taxes by 9.5% because it has failed to balance the budget. What is even more ironic is that these are the same politicians promising a socialist utopia, while they can barely make ends meet on the failing programs they already have.
Are these people really that delusional? Because, as it stands, they have proved they have no concept of how money works.
Here is a thought for people like Hochul: How about those benefiting from these social programs start working to make ends meet? While we can be certain many recipients do truly need the handout, we can also be sure that many of them are perfectly capable of providing for themselves. Next time she tries to beg people in other states to fund her initiatives, she should look at cutting costs first. Clearly, though, she won't, as she projects her insecurities and problems onto everyone but the people responsible for the mess they are in.
Pathetic — totally pathetic.
