Hey, remember when Aaron Rodgers used his free speech to joke about Jimmy Kimmel and Epstein, and Kimmel threatened to sue?

Jimmy Kimmel is a drizzling turd of a human being. Late-night "comedy" is a dead medium. Kimmel's "comedy" "writers" just lazily copy things they see on BlueSky and call them jokes, but they have a First Amendment right to do so. Okay? Okay. And sure, if the same "widow" joke was made about Michelle Obama that was made about Melania Trump, none of the content creators on CNN would be defending that comedian's First Amendment rights. For a more apples-to-apples hypocrisy comparison, remember when Aaron Rodgers made a joke about Kimmel, and Jeffrey Epstein and Kimmel threatened to sue.
The year was 2024. Shaboozey ruled the airwaves. A young Deadpool made us laugh. The People Who Controlled Joe Biden Administration worked tirelessly to hide that Joe pooped his pants again. And as we were coming out of the pandemic, we discovered that people like Aaron Rodgers were right and people like the Moderna Center Presents Jimmy Kimmel Live were unhappy about it.
Rodgers and Kimmel had been beefing since the Fauci Era of American history. Rodgers, the quarterback, famously decided not to get his Fauci Ouchie because of his longstanding belief that people should be allowed to make their own medical decisions. Kimmel, the late-night "comedian," believed whatever the Democrat Party told him to believe and felt people who didn't get their Fauci Ouchie should die in the streets.
It sets the stage for Rodgers talking with Pat McAfee (who, apropos of nothing, is a more entertaining wrestler than Kyle Fletcher), and makes a joke about the following:
"[The Epstein List] is supposed to be coming out soon… There’s a lot of people, including Jimmy Kimmel that are really hoping that doesn’t come out.”
Presumably a reference to Kimmel's close friend (allegedly), chef Adam Perry Lang, who served as Jeffrey Epstein's personal chef and claimed he was unaware of Epstein's depraved behavior, though he flew on Epstein's private jet and stayed in Epstein's home. Allegedly.
Free Speech champion Jimmy Kimmel threatened a lawsuit, claiming "soft-brained wackos like [Rodgers] can’t seem to distinguish from reality," and that his "reckless words" put Kimmel's "family in danger." Unlike the reckless words used by mainstream Democrats and the media (but I repeat myself), claiming Donald Trump is a fascist who is going to destroy Democracy and wants everyone dead, and there needs to be maximum warfare against him.
Side Note: There was a third assassination attempt on Trump this past Saturday.
Dear Aasshole: for the record, I’ve not met, flown with, visited, or had any contact whatsoever with Epstein, nor will you find my name on any “list” other than the clearly-phony nonsense that soft-brained wackos like yourself can’t seem to distinguish from reality. Your reckless… https://t.co/p8eug12uiS

Surely the content creators at CNN, being the free speech champions that they are, leaped to the defense of Aaron Rodgers against Kimmel's inability to take a joke. Just like, surely, no one on the left called not only for Rodgers to be canceled, but also Pat McAfee.

CNN - 1/10/2024 - the Aaron Rodgers/Jimmy Kimmel dispute sparks a conversation about traditional cable vs digital media as The Pat McAfee Show flexes their power by having the controversial Aaron Rodgers on ESPN/Disney

I guess not.
Here's the thing. I am of the belief that both Jimmy Kimmel AND Aaron Rodgers have free speech. Kimmel is an unfunny twattaco. He is protected under the Bill of Rights to be an unfunny twattaco. If ABC/Disney wants to stay in bed with someone that toxic, it's not my money.
However, if you are wondering why so many people want to treat Kimmel the way Kimmel wanted to treat Aaron Rodgers, I'd point to the hypocracy who the media and the left (but I repeat myself) decides has the right to free speech as compared to those they don't.
