The SAVE Act, which would require "documentary proof of United States citizenship" to register to vote, is making its way through Congress. This is popular among Americans. So, why is there a holdup? Today’s show breaks it down.

“We just want to make sure that you are who you say you are. That's it,” Crowder said. “I either encounter people who claim racism, because they are die-hard leftists, or the second group of people go, ‘what? We don't have any ID requirements?’"

Over 80% of Americans agree with this, according to polling data released by CNN's Harry Enten, including over 70% of Democrats.

“Everyone supports it except the Senate Democrats, who threatened a filibuster,” Crowder said. “They are willing to die on this hill to ensure that no one needs to present an ID to vote.”

According to the left, voter ID is racist.

“Here’s the truth, of course, not. The SAVE Act is popular among all racial groups, increasing year after year,” Crowder said.

In other words, the only people who find this controversial are leftist elected officials. Voters of both parties and all races largely support this.

Another claim the left makes is that it disenfranchises minorities, elderly people, and those without cars. Sunny Hostin has even claimed that most Democracies around the world don't have this requirement to vote in elections, which could not be further from the truth.

“Voter ID is common in pretty much all other major countries with no evidence of disenfranchisement. It's not even an issue. They have voter ID in Switzerland, France, Israel, Mexico, and India,” Crowder said.

One other major claim the left makes is that the 2020 election was the most secure in American history.

“Even if that happened to be true, then voter ID would not affect it,” Crowder said. “Since 2020, the left has fundamentally changed how voting works by normalizing things like mass mail-in ballots, drop boxes, ballot harvesting, no verification, and no ability to bring forward that something might be questionable.”
