It is unclear when leftist elected officials will start protecting the rights and freedoms of Americans like they are supposed to, but as of this writing, it is not anytime soon.
BREAKING: Washington State Patrol (WSP) detectives, assisted by the Madera Police Department, have arrested Manuel Cortez-Vargas, 33, a longtime fugitive in Madera, CA, who was placed on the WSP Most Wanted list in 2012 after failing to appear in court on a hit-and-run-fatality… pic.twitter.com/ZOKkt5vrzh

A criminal alien has finally been arrested after 14 years on Washington's most wanted list, after he fled a car crash that killed a teenager.
CONFIRMED: Manuel Cortez Vargas is in the US illegally. He was wanted for a hit-and-run fatality. CA and WA are both sanctuary jurisdictions
The question now is what will they do with this person who was on the Washington Most Wanted list, now that they have him in custody? https://t.co/jGzSC1PbE9 pic.twitter.com/7EiLogcnhn

According to The Post Millennial:
Manuel Cortez-Vargas, 33, was arrested April 30 in Madera, California, after WSP detectives worked with the Madera Police Department to track him down. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Madera County Jail, where he awaits extradition to Skagit County.
Do you think it was just a coincidence that an illegal alien on the most wanted list was located in one of America's largest sanctuary states? Because I certainly do not think it is.
The case dates back to March 5, 2012, when WSP says Cortez-Vargas was driving a silver Honda Accord on Sapp Road in Skagit County. Authorities say he failed to negotiate a curve, causing the vehicle to roll and land upside down in a slough beside the road.
Any illegal alien on the road is a threat to public safety that creates a threat that should not exist in the first place. Any accident caused by them should have never happened in the first place.
Inside the car was 19-year-old Cameron Sheridan. WSP said Sheridan became trapped in the overturned vehicle and drowned. The crash happened around 3 am near Sedro-Woolley, and the car was upside down and partially submerged when police arrived. Cortez-Vargas was long gone after allegedly fleeing the scene instead of reporting the accident to authorities.
Wow. Not only did his actions cause the death of an innocent teen, but he refused to take any accountability. While this is unsurprising, it still proves how much of a threat to public safety illegal immigration is. Because of him, an innocent man lost his life far too soon. And the fact that these stories have been going on for decades proves just how much work needs to be done. While it is great that federal authorities were able to arrest the suspect, it is truly unacceptable that this story exists in the first place.
