Woke mayor declares it more important to honor the gays with crosswalks than it is to honor America's 250th birthday

While there is zero reason to have a rainbow crosswalk in any city in this great nation, as this symbolizes nothing more than insignificant preferences that have nothing to do with this country, it is, at the very least, far more irrelevant than establishing a walkway dedicated to America 250. This is because while it is great to respect all people regardless of their orientation or identity, it has nothing to do with the fact that this great has made the world a much better place. This is why it is both bizarre and inappropriate for Monterey Mayor Tyller Williamson to claim otherwise.

Vice Mayor Ed Smith proposed the city paint a red, white, and blue crosswalk in downtown Monterey. This should not be controversial.
According to Williamson, however, a rainbow crosswalk is more important because it provides visibility for the LGBT community, whatever that even means. This is why he believes the city should devote fewer resources to America's 250th anniversary and, instead of a crosswalk, create an art mural.
He further justified his asinine stance by claiming he is part of the rainbow mob.
Now, call me crazy, but wouldn't that mean his opinion on the matter is a conflict of interest? Nonetheless, this proves how arrogant people like him are, as he believes his feelings should somehow be dedicated to a crosswalk, even though that has done nothing to make anyone better off, while he mocks the 250th anniversary of this nation by downplaying the significance of that date.
The fact that he believes sinful pride is somehow more appropriate for the city to prioritize efforts on than America 250 is a scandal that should be condemned. We are dealing with some very unserious people here, and Williamson could not be more pathetic if he tried.
