To claim birthright citizenship is a “threat to Democracy” would be an understatement. You cannot have a functioning country when you invite everyone and their future children to exploit the system. This is what birthright citizenship does, and it is a terrible thing for this country.

This is precisely why the Trump Administration is doing what needs to be done.

SCOTUS blocked Trump’s executive order that restricted birthright citizenship. And if you thought that would stop him from doing all he can to end birth tourism, you would have been wrong.

According to Fox News:

President Donald Trump on Thursday signed two executive orders targeting birthright citizenship and birth tourism, saying his administration is taking a new approach after what he called a "very unfortunate" Supreme Court ruling.

White House deputy chief of staff for policy Stephen Miller said the first order expands the categories of people the administration considers ineligible for birthright citizenship, including "alien enemies of the United States, members of foreign terrorist organizations, and large categories of people who lobby and act on behalf of foreign governments."

While it is great this was done, the fact that it needed to be done in the first place is a problem. Did you need any more proof of how unserious past administrations took this issue? You certainly do not need any more evidence that, for far too long, officials have turned a blind eye and afforded foreign nationals special privileges that most countries would see as a threat to national security.

Miller said the second order was issued "for the first time ever in American history to ban birth tourism." He said the administration will deny visas to people who seek to enter the United States "to have a child, to make that child an automatic citizen" as well as those who organize such trips.

Isn't it great to finally have someone in office who does things to help Americans instead of prioritizing foreign nationals? However, the fact that the term “birth tourism” even exists still shows how much work needs to be done to protect this great nation.
