It is one thing to ensure no human is illegal, but it is a whole other level when the left has decided foreign nationals can now enforce the law, while still being a citizen of another country. And this is exactly what the State of Washington has decided to impose on American citizens.

A state bill allowing some foreign nationals to serve as officers in the State of Washington is headed to the Governor’s desk, where he is expected to sign and approve it into law.

According to The Post Millennial:

Engrossed Senate Bill 5068 expands eligibility for several public safety positions to anyone legally authorized to work in the United States under federal law, removing longstanding requirements that many of those jobs be limited to US citizens or lawful permanent residents.

Why does the state spend so much of its time fighting to put the interests of foreign nationals above the American public? Last time I checked, its duty was to protect the constitutional rights of citizens, not implement special ones for foreign nationals. And since when did the left decide to pick up the fight where some foreign nationals have law enforcement powers over Americans? The logic is not very logical with this one.

Under the measure, individuals such as refugees, asylees, and certain visa holders could apply for positions with law enforcement agencies. If hired and certified, they would be able to carry firearms, make arrests, and enforce Washington law. The bill also expands eligibility to corrections officers, civil service police and firefighters, Department of Fish and Wildlife officers, and deputy prosecuting attorneys, provided applicants pass the required background checks and certification standards.

Call me old-fashioned, but shouldn't the state be prioritizing these positions for — well — I don't know — American citizens?!

Maybe — just maybe — if the left stopped vilifying the police, the left wouldn't have to replace them with foreign nationals. It’s also ironic how the left is the party of lawlessness, so much so that they have fought to make many crimes de facto legal, while suddenly having foreign nationals uphold the law. You truly cannot make up this level of insanity.

While the left might portray this as a way for the state to address policing shortages, it really proves just how little they fight for you — the American people — while they put the interests of foreign nationals first. But what else is new?

Maybe one day state officials will fight for you in the way they do for foreigners to obtain law enforcement privileges, but don't hold your breath, as they have proven time and again how little they respect the law.
