Animal rights activist glues hand to Trader Joe's fridge, discovers what the word "felony" means

It would be one thing if radical vegan activists were just advocating for better conditions on factory farms, but that’s not really what we tend to see. What makes animal rights activists so insufferable is that their demands almost always involve using “shock tactics” to grab attention. This can range from interrupting restaurants or grocery stores to confront customers, to, in this case, gluing themselves to a Trader Joe’s fridge and disrupting innocent people just trying to run errands — people who have nothing to do with what they’re supposedly fighting against.
An animal rights activist is facing charges after gluing himself to the chicken section at a Trader Joe’s in California. And it’s safe to say he has zero regrets — but it’s unclear how, exactly, this has helped save any chickens.

Wow, what a game-changer. They really did wonders for their cause. Truly unforgettable.
According to Pasadena Now:
An animal rights activist was charged with felony vandalism Wednesday after supergluing his hand to a refrigerator containing chicken products at a Trader Joe’s store in Pasadena, according to authorities and the activist group Direct Action Everywhere (DxE).
None of the workers in that store have any control over where the company sources its chicken, yet activists choose to disrupt their day and the lives of everyday people just to make a point — a point that, frankly, lacks any real substance.
It’s unclear whether they would prefer Trader Joe's to stop selling chicken altogether, but you do the math.
The protest was part of a broader DxE campaign targeting Trader Joe’s ties to Perdue’s Petaluma Poultry, which the group accuses of operating factory farms with systemic abuse. About 20 activists participated, some standing on checkout lanes and using megaphones to deliver speeches inside the store. Outside, demonstrators displayed a poster of Trader Joe’s president with the phrase “I sell animal cruelty.”
We can be almost certain that not a single person went vegan as a result of this stunt. Zero.
DxE claims its seven-year investigation into Petaluma Poultry documented birds suffering from disease, injuries, and neglect. The group also cited USDA data showing the company’s slaughterhouse has elevated rates of foodborne pathogens.
Ani Kandada, the activist who glued his hands to the chicken section, pushed back against the felony charges, calling them “absurd.” He said, “The refrigerator is perfectly fine, my hand is fine — but the chickens are not,” according to the outlet.
Vegans often use slogans like, “There is no humane way to kill an animal that does not want to die.” And sure, I don’t want chickens mistreated any more than the next person. But what exactly would be acceptable to them for Trader Joe’s to avoid blame? Because it seems pretty clear these activists won’t stop until everyone goes vegan, meaning nothing will ever be good enough.
They do realize that mass agriculture actually kills loads of animals and destroys entire ecosystems when compared to raising them for slaughter, right? Right?! If things went their way, the amount of animal suffering could be way worse than they can even imagine. Calling that a slap in the face to animal rights would be an understatement. But they don’t care — as long as they get to signal their moral superiority while you’re just trying to buy chicken at Trader Joe’s. And that, my friend, is exactly why so many people dislike vegans.
