More and more people are waking up to the failed policies of the left in Los Angeles. You have to be unbelievably stupid to not understand that there is a correlation between the people being elected and the conditions residents face -- conditions that are so bad, not even the third world is subjected to many of them.

Last time I checked, Skid Row only exists in America. This is not something the left should be proud of, yet the responsibility lies with them. And when you pay people for being on the street to do drugs all day, you don't tend to get to the “root cause” of the issue.

When you have some of the highest costs of living in the world, yet don't even provide the most basic functions of city government -- such as public safety -- you end up losing votes.

It is unclear if the mess the left created is enough to cost them future elections, but it sure does not help. This may or may not be why some officials believe the path forward is to allow foreign nationals to vote in local elections.

LA Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martínez wants noncitizens to vote in elections, as he believes migrants deserve to have their voices heard. It is unclear why the councilmember believes these people have a right to turn the city into the place they fled. Nonetheless, this is what happens when you can't win elections the fair and square way.

According to the New York Post:

A proposal from Hugo Soto-Martínez — a Democratic Socialists of America-backed city councilmember currently running for reelection — would give the Council the authority to extend voting rights to noncitizens.

Soto-Martínez, the son of Mexican immigrants, has framed the push as giving more power to families like his own who paid taxes and raised children in LA while remaining locked out of the ballot box.
He contends that decisions ranging from housing and policing to education are felt most acutely at the local level, yet not everyone living under those policies has a say.

They don't have a say because they broke federal immigration laws. They never had a right to be here, and it is deranged that the left continues to do everything it can to make the lives of foreign nationals better off, while slapping those they were elected to represent.

While it is unlikely the mass majority of Los Angeles residents will wake up to the mess they continue to vote for, this will ensure that nothing ever gets fixed. Any hope for the City of Angels will be lost if this comes to fruition. And the fact that a councilmember can promote such an asinine proposition without him fearing the scandal is a scandal in itself.
