CAUGHT! Mika Brezinzski Actually Says 'It's Media's Job to Control What People Think...'
We've always been fair to Joe and Mika. All "even the liberal MSNBC" jokes aside, Morning Joe does bring up some great points (see ‘Morning Joe’s’ Mika Brzezinski Torches ‘Shrill’ Elizabeth Warren and ‘Morning Joe’ Pulls No Punches: Clinton Foundation is “Morally Deficit, Gross!”). All that said, Mika is still a leftist and Joe still has a job to keep. Which brings us to this week's episode.
SCARBOROUGH: "Exactly. That is exactly what I hear. What Yamiche said is what I hear from all the Trump supporters that I talk to who were Trump voters and are still Trump supporters. They go, 'Yeah you guys are going crazy. He's doing -- what are you so surprised about? He is doing exactly what he said he is going to do.'"
BRZEZINSKI: "Well, I think that the dangerous, you know, edges here are that he is trying to undermine the media and trying to make up his own facts. And it could be that while unemployment and the economy worsens, he could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think. And that, that is our job."
This is what we in the political community call a "Freudian slip." Actually, that's what the scientific community calls it. The political community calls it "oh ****, did I say that out loud?" It's what leftists really think. It's what leftists in the media really think. Their job is to tell us what to think because we're too chuckleheaded to form thoughts and opinions on our own. We see you Mika and Joe.
While I'm cagey about lumping all media twits into one basket of deplorables, I'm tempted to say all media elites believe as Mika does: it's the media's job to shape public opinion. They believe it's their duty to tell you what to think, how to think, or more accurately, not to think at all. You just leave that to them, your job is just to feel in reaction to whatever narrative they've crafted for your wee little mind. Now go out and riot with nary a critical thought.
Start a timer to see how long it is before Mika makes a "heartfelt" apology for her admittance. But too late, honey buns. Your secret is out.
More importantly, there's a new Hepburn and Tracy of politics in town...
