The left is eating the left again, this time about a movie set in Egypt having a bunch of white guys in the cast. Geography and anthropology lesson: people in Egypt aren't as white as Shuan King. Presumably these leftists bitching about all the snowflakes in the Egypt movie are ticked about it not being historically accurate.

The movie under the white microscope is Gods of Egypt:

Directed by Alex Proyas and set in ancient Egypt, the tale of deities and mortals fighting over the fate of the world features several white actors in prominent roles, including Gerard Butler, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and Brenton Thwaites. Many observers objected to the casting choices when characters posters and a trailer were unveiled earlier this month.

Proyas said in a statement Friday, “The process of casting a movie has many complicated variables, but it is clear that our casting choices should have been more diverse. I sincerely apologize to those who are offended by the decisions we made.”

Okay, so Gerard Butler isn't exactly an Egyptian. The other actors named sound pretty white, too. Kind of slavic a bit. Still not as white as Shaun King. Here's another guess as to what this movie will feature: British accents. What is it with all foreign accents being automatically British? When is someone going to picket that idiocy? Call me when you do, because I have real problems with it. Remember Gladiator? Set in Rome and everyone has a British accent, like after they fight to the death they're all going to board the Hogwarts Express through Platform Nine and Three Quarters. Just saying. Okay, rant over.

This isn't the first (nor will it be the last) time that Hollywood, the poster child of all things left, liberal and "progressive" has skewed its own rules to make money (read Matt Damon says 'Merit' is More Important than race. Left Explodes!. That's right, money. Hollywood cast Gerard Butler because he's known. Also because he was King Leonidas and he push-kicked some douche into a giant hole in 300. But mostly the director and the studio don't care about diversity, they care about selling a film. They care about getting as much money as they can. Historical race accuracy for a film?

So yeah, they're all hypocrites for not practicing what they preach. Also, it's entertaining to watch the left eating the left. Can't complain about that one.
