The US took gold in a sport Canada invented, and they are weeping. Today’s show breaks this down.

“This is emblematic of our relationship with the world. They will set the terms of the game. They will try to implement rules we accept and are obliged to, and then they will bitch about it,” Crowder said. “You can compare this to NATO. You can compare this to tariffs, for example.”

According to the New York Post:

The United States ended its 46-year Winter Olympics gold medal drought in men’s hockey thanks to Jack Hughes’ golden goal in overtime to give Team USA a 2-1 win over Canada at the 2026 Milan Cortina Games on Sunday, and they received a congratulatory phone call from President Trump afterward.

The official X account of the White House used the historic occasion to take a swipe at the former Canadian PM, who had posted to the social media platform, “You can’t take our country — and you can’t take our game,” after Canada had beaten the U.S. in the Four Nations Face-Off last year.

“This is considered a violation of international law,” Crowder said. “Apply it to tariffs. They will apply a tariff on American dairy to the tune of several hundred percent. We turn around and protect our own industries, and then they cry foul. That is why this matters.”

Canada, as a nation, has had a hard time accepting the loss.

After the women’s team lost, Team Canada posted the lie that “Silver shines just as bright.”

One checkout clerk allegedly stated that because the game resulted in overtime, the “boys played a good game.”

Michael Gerald Gibbs claimed, “It's never about who wins. Never. It's about how you carry yourself in tough moments.” This is again another lie.

“I get it — you want to be a good sport — but let’s not say winning never matters,” Crowder said.

Many Canadians are upset over the post from the White House, despite it being a common thing in sports. What is not common is booing the national anthem of your neighbors, which Canadians fans did in Feb. 2025.

“Booing a national anthem would be reason enough to be kicked out in any professional sport,” Crowder said. “It’s the double standard. Just apply that to tariffs, border security, drug tracking, and immigration.”
