The left promised that Canada’s Eunathasia program was not a slippery slope. It turns out, however, that it is the slipperiest of slopes in the history of slopes.

First, they said MAiD would be reserved for the terminally ill. Then, they expanded it for mental illness. Now, they are mulling whether or not children should be included in this evil state-sanctioned suicide. Worse of all, this may or may not be done with parental consent.

According to Life News:

A report by the Special Joint Committee on Medical Assistance in Dying (AMAD) was tabled in the House of Commons on February 15 calling for a drastic expansion of euthanasia (MAiD) in Canada. Among other recommendations, the report recommends that euthanasia be expanded to include children “mature minors.”

Per the recommendation, “That the Government of Canada establish a requirement that, where appropriate, the parents or guardians of a mature minor be consulted in the course of the assessment process for MAID, but that the will of a minor who is found to have the requisite decision-making capacity ultimately take priority.”

This means that parents or guardians may or may not be consulted, in the euthanasia death of a child that is deemed capable of decision-making.

Sick Children’s hospital draft policy applies the same “ethics” for mature minors making medical decisions as making death decisions. Most Canadian provinces allow mature minors to make decisions about their own care, including withdrawing or withholding life support. In Ontario a minor can provide consent for treatment or withdrawal of treatment if they understand the “reasonably foreseeable consequences” of their decision. The Sick Kids’ hospital stated that they encourage minors to involve their families in medical decisions.

Children who are deemed, by their physician, as competent to make medical decisions will be also deemed competent to decide, with or without the consent of their parents, to die by lethal injection.

I am having trouble figuring out when medical care turned into intentional killing, especially when it comes to the most vulnerable population.

Life is worth living, despite what some vulnerable patients believe. The government was never intended to decide when life is no longer valuable. This was and is always up to God.

Nelson Mandela once said, “There can be no keener revelation of a society's soul than the way in which it treats its children.” The people responsible for this have no souls. There is no other way to look at it.

I don’t have to tell you how evil this proposal is; that goes without saying. If and when this becomes law, that will be a very dark day in history. And the fact that the left believes they are fighting nazis, while performing some of the most nazi-like “medical procedures,” just shows how deranged they truly are.
