Joe Biden's latest invalid truth involves the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. In 2018, it was the site of a violent attack that saw eleven people murdered. Joe Biden claimed he visited, met with the survivors, gave out back rubs, danced the Horah, and asked members if JuJu Smith-Schuster was their favorite Steeler. The problem is, Joe Biden never visited the synagogue. Even CNN was forced to call him out on it. You can tell by the look on Kate Bolduan's face she really didn't want to.

CNN is usually quick to circle the wagons around Joe Biden. These are the same people who investigated and let us know that, no, Joe Biden did not say "my butt's been wiped." But this Biden whoopsie was even too much for them. A statement was issued by Rabbi Jeffrey Myers that he received a very nice phone call from Joe Biden at some point. According to the White House, that was what Biden was talking about.

GOING somewhere is not the same thing as NOT GOING SOMEWHERE. It's actually the exact opposite thing. So for the White House to claim what Biden meant when he said he went to the synagogue was that he didn't go to the synagogue, it doesn't fly as an excuse. It's why an official would only say so anonymously. It's also why Jen Psaki keeps a bottle of tequila in her desk drawer next to a rough draft of her resignation letter.
