After Jasmine Crockett took to the floor of the People's House to accuse Republicans of taking donations from Jeffrey Epstein, not realizing at the time (or not caring) that it wasn't THAT Jeffrey Epstein, you knew her excuse was going to be something special. Apparently, it was our fault for assuming she was talking about THAT Jeffrey Epstein during a floor debate about THAT Jeffrey Epstein.

To recap, Rep. Stacey Plaskett took not only donations from that Jeffrey Epstein (the convicted pedophile one), but she was also texting him during congressional hearings. Crockett, in her defense, had her staff come up with a list of every Republican who donated to "Jeffrey Epstein."

Side note, the streets say her staff hates her:

"She is laying around her apartment, won’t come into the office, and is really just indifferent to staff and will scream at them," one former aide said. "She is never in the office and is very disengaged. She does her bulls*t that goes viral, and then freaks out over the most random things."

The streets say the same about her colleagues:

As for her colleagues, four days before this story was published, Crockett called me to express frustration that I had reached out to so many House members without telling her first. She was, she told me, “shutting down the profile and revoking all permissions.”

As it turns out, while "Jeffrey Epstein" may not be a common name in Texas, it was common on the north shore of Long Island.

Crockett tells CNN it's no biggie that she made a huge, dumb, mistake on the floor of the People's House. Because, you see, it wasn't a mistake!

"That is specifically why I said *a* Jeffrey Epstein. Just because it wasn't the same one, that's fine... Have I dug in to find out who this doctor is? I have not."

Ackshually, no. It's not fine. I get that her staff held her out to dry and made her look like a dundederhead numbskull. "Yeah, that's on me," or "apparently I don't scream at my staff enough," would have been acceptable answers to making a mistake. Instead, SHE didn't make the mistake. YOU made the mistake by thinking she was implying it was THAT Jeffrey Epstein in a debate about THAT Jeffrey Epstein.

However, to Jasmine Crockett's credit, she hasn't cried RAAAAAAAACISM over the people criticizing her. Yet.
