When one of the more anti-Trump tabloids writes a profile of a Democrat leader they are praising for her anti-Trumpiness, you would think everyone would be happy. Unless, of course, you are defacto Democrat leader Jasmine Crockett. Then you get in your feelings because the glowing profile isn't going to glaze you enough, so you try to have it shut down.

The Atlantic wrote a puff piece on Jasmine called "A Democrat for the Trump Era." Tl:dr if you are a douche on social media, Democrats and media (but I repeat myself) claim you are charting a path forward in the Trump Era. Now, of course, I know that you know that I know they don't understand the Trump Era, but it's not my place to explain it to them.

Social media played a significant role in the profile. Turns out, when Jasmine tried convincing her peers she should be the ranking member on the House Oversight committee, she felt her being a big deal on TikTok should have sealed the deal.

“It’s like, there’s one clear person in the race that has the largest social-media following."

Her peers in Congress are where the glowing puff piece ran into problems. 33 Democrats either didn't respond or refused to comment on what it's like being in the presence of such an intellectual powerhouse.

Upon hearing this, said intellectual powerhouse attempted to shut it all down.

Crockett said that people are free to disagree with her communication style, but that she “was elected to speak up for the people that I represent.” As for her colleagues, four days before this story was published, Crockett called me to express frustration that I had reached out to so many House members without telling her first. She was, she told me, “shutting down the profile and revoking all permissions.”

Crockett does not have supporters so much as she has admirers.

What's unintentionally funny about all this is that had it not been for Jasmine Crockett's ego, no one would know this article existed. Like, wow. An anti-Trump tabloid wrote a puff piece about someone who is anti-Trump. In related news, rain is yet.

Yet because she had to be extra, since everything about her is all style and zero substance, we're talking about the profile... but only the embarrassing parts. With that in mind, it was in fact an excellent representation of Democrats in the Trump Era.
