JUST IN: New York Attorney General Letitia James raises her fist in the air after being criminally indicted for bank fraud.
“We are here tonight because we are ready to turn the page on the cynical, broken, politics of the past,” she said at Zohran Mamdani’s rally.

New York Attorney General Letitia James was applauded by what appeared to be a crowd made up of the country’s most naive voting base, as she pathetically lifted her fist in the air like the cringe-fest depended on it. What’s astonishing about James being cheered and applauded is that they act as if she’s actually done something for New Yorkers. Yet all she’s really done is prosecute a then-former president for an allegedly repeated fraud that had zero victims. How this has made New Yorkers better off is beyond reason. In fact, one could argue it’s made them worse off — since many of the people who voted for her would never vote for Trump anyway, and her case did the left absolutely no favors.
Nonetheless, when I think of someone “ready to turn the page on the cynical, broken politics of the past,” I certainly don’t want James anywhere near that. To call her a major perpetrator in that same “politics of the past” would be an understatement. Still, she said what she said at Zohran Mamdani’s rally.
As previously mentioned, James received applause as she threw her fist in the air at a Zohran Mamdani rally, where she promised he would help put an end to the “cynical, broken politics of the past.” It’s unclear exactly how they plan to do that, but she claimed it would be through creating “an economy for workers.” And by an economy for workers, we all know exactly what they mean. So, it’s safe to assume the rally was packed with a crowd of naive socialists — because that’s exactly what’s being advocated for here.
What’s comical about their claim to end “politics as usual” is that there has never been a socialist in the history of socialism who didn’t eventually turn into a corrupt, power-hungry dictator responsible for the suffering — or even death — of their own people. So while they boast about building an economy for “the little guy,” we know precisely what that means: everyone will end up worse off because of it. Well, everyone except them.
So, while we could call it cute that James lifted her fist in the air and pretended she isn’t a huge part of the same “cynical, broken politics of the past,” we know exactly where she stands — and it certainly isn’t with the people she pretends to represent. But what else is new?
