New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is definitely not my friend, and I assume you feel the same. That’s what made it so bizarre when the announcer introduced her at the 2025 Ryder Cup as “my friend and yours.” Nonetheless, the crowd booed her into oblivion.

It’s also unclear why they thanked her, considering she’s one of the worst things to ever happen to New York. I guess sometimes it’s best to be the bigger person—though Hochul doesn’t exactly seem to live by that motto.

I’d really like to know what Hochul was thinking while that was happening to her.

According to the New York Post:

Golf fans attending the opening ceremony ahead of the US’s matchup against Europe unleashed on the Democratic leader as she walked on stage at the Bethpage State Park in Farmingdale, according to social media footage.

“You’re the worst,” one attendee shouted.

I can confirm that Hochul is, indeed, “the worst.”

Daly, who brought Hochul out, tried to quiet the crowd by joking that she isn’t NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, but it didn’t help much, according to the Athletic.

As a woman who knows nothing about golf, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how based the fans were. To be fair, Hochul is a total buffoon who has done nothing beneficial for New York, so it doesn’t take much to despise her. Nonetheless, she got what she deserved—but she’s likely too arrogant to realize the boos were directed at her.
