The persistent degradation of education for the purpose of pushing leftist ideology continues apace. In a Fairfax County Public School, as part of an English curriculum, took part in a game of “privilege” bingo. The board contained several spaces that included leftist favorites such as heterosexual, white, Christian, cisgender, and male. Others were slightly stranger, like comfortable walking outside alone, mentally healthy, and no speech impediment.

One tile on the board, however, stands out, especially in a school dominated by the children of service members stationed at the pentagon: military kid. Apparently, moving every few years, leaving one’s friends, repeatedly going without seeing a parent for months, and knowing that your parent can die during one of those periods away is a form of privilege.

As The Daily Wire reports, parents rightly complained about the ridiculous game and received a letter from the Assistant Superintendent Douglas Tyson.

“The screen shot you reference comes from an approved FCPS English Curriculum lesson that is centered around students selecting a “choice” test and examining in detail the author’s perspective on a wide-range [sic] of issues. Students are asked, in the lesson, to read critically and think critically about the author’s perspective on several fronts including the author’s privilege that may or may not be present in the work. Students are then asked independently and self reflectively to juxtapose their thoughts regarding any perceived privilege they think they may have and how they would potentially rewrite portions of the text. Students are not asked or required to report out their self-reflections. This lesson is an adept vehicle to push student thinking to challenge the author’s thoughts/conclusions and to sharpen their ability to critically lead selected texts.”

Let’s get one thing straight: there is absolutely no properly constructed English curriculum that requires such an exercise. It doesn’t exist. This is not how one teaches reading or writing. No text will ever require one to identify their so-called “privilege,” and I have a stupid diploma on my wall to prove I know what I’m talking about if any of these leftist troglodytes want to argue otherwise.

This is political messaging meant only to denigrate certain individuals in the classroom and favor others based on the grievance studies oppressor/oppressed narrative. In other words, this isn’t education. This is indoctrination.

One hopes that after Glenn Youngkin receives word of this assignment that heads will roll. He’s taken a running start to make good on his campaign promises to rid Virginia schools of this very type of divisive and corrosive teaching. In all honesty, I think people need to start being fired on the spot for this bullsh*t.

You know the shpeel: Your children shouldn’t be subjected to this kind of mental abuse. Get out of the public schools, or they will continue to brainwash your children to hate themselves, you, and this country.
