Watch: Elon Musk exposes to Joe Rogan how Twitter was a "state publication," even moderate right-wing opinion got throttled
Elon Musk paid his first visit to his buddy Joe Rogan since buying Twitter, now known as X. During the interview, Musk exposes just how involved the government was in controlling content, and how more than willing the radical leftists working for Twitter were to throttle even moderate Republican thought.
We got a taste when Musk released the Twitter Files. The release was so damaging to the government's efforts to control speech, that they audited one of the reporters and even went after Musk directly. On Rogan's podcast, Musk referred to old Twitter as a "state publication."
"The degree to which Twitter was simply an arm of the government was not well understood by the public," Musk told Rogan. "There was basically oppression of any views that would even, I would say be considered middle of the road, but certainly anything on the right. And I’m not talking about like far right, I’m just talking about mildly right."
Republicans were throttled at ten times the rate of Democrats.
The change since Elon took over, while not perfect, has been noticeable. Reporters no longer had someone at Twitter to call to make sure their woke articles trended. Even silly cultural things, like how "Cancel Chris Pratt" would trend any time a movie trailer came out due to the amount of Leftists angry he's a Christian. Once Musk fired the people who decided what trended and what didn't (spoiler, it was never based on what was actually trending), suddenly no one wanted to cancel Chris Pratt anymore.
Yesterday, Hamas Caucus member Cori Bush was called out via X's Community Notes. for lying about condemning Hamas. If this were Twitter 1.0, she wouldn't have needed to bother lying. Twitter would have throttled her critics and amplified anyone who was blaming Israel for everything since that's the opinion progressives want you to have.
Compare this to the still commie AF Facebook, where they throttled criticism of Joe Biden's student loans bailout. By criticism, I mean criticism from the HOUSE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
It's nice to see someone exposed Twitter. It's terrifying that in exposing how easy it was for Twitter, you can see how many Bug Tech platforms still throttle any opinion they disagree with.
