Thug gets released from jail early after murdering an 84-year-old, judge said his childhood was "traumatic" enough

It will never be clear why the left does everything in its power to afford special rights to the worst criminals among us, so much so that they have proven they couldn't care less about murder victims. At one point in human history, murder was considered a very serious crime. One leftist judge, however, has given a killer a pass after he randomly killed an innocent grandpa, all because he was having a bad day.
The man who killed an 84-year-old Thai man in San Francisco in 2021 got his entire eight-year sentence suspended by Judge Linda Colfax. The judge considered the defendant’s “traumatic” childhood background as mitigating factors for him shoving down the elderly victim, who hit his… https://t.co/nTGDTHjsOf pic.twitter.com/ZC2NwnOfIv

According to Fox 2:
A judge in San Francisco on Thursday sentenced the man convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of "Grandpa Vicha" to eight years but because he has already spent the majority of that behind bars, he will soon be released from custody.
The fact that we live in a time where people who have taken the lives of others are released back into society is astounding. While I am no legal expert, common sense would tell you that killers are not worthy of rehabilitation, but that is just my two cents. Clearly, the judge believes otherwise.
Judge Linda Colfax sentenced Antoine Watson to three years for an assault charge and five years suspended for aggravating factors following the 2021 death of 84-year-old Vicha Ratanapakdee, known by his nickname.
During the trial, Watson's attorneys argued that the then-19-year-old defendant was experiencing extreme emotional distress following a family argument and a car crash. They contended Watson "snapped" when his car would not start that January morning.
There are plenty of people who get into family arguments and car crashes and don't kill random people. That is not a thing, and the fact that this was enough for him to randomly kill someone for breathing tells you all you need to know.
In February 2021, Antoine Watson shoved 84-year-old Vicha Ratanapakdeeto to the ground in an unprovoked attack. Vicha smashed his head and died at the hospital.
After years of delays, Antoine Watson has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter and force likely to produce… pic.twitter.com/lLXFIstpS5

The worst part is that the defense team implied that the defendant's traumatic childhood is what caused him to kill the innocent grandpa, while the judge emphasized that his actions were provoked by PTSD and trauma. While I am no therapist, I assume there are plenty of people who live with trauma and PTSD and don't randomly kill people. Additionally, the amount of trauma and PTSD caused to the victim's family, in this case, should be at the forefront, not the other way around.
During their closing argument, they said Watson was "angry that his car wouldn't start, and he spotted a target for his anger."
After his release from custody, Watson will be required to receive counseling and have regular check-ins, which the judge believes would lead to a lower likelihood of re-offending.
Methinks regular check-ins and therapy won't do much to help the man who randomly kills grandpa because of a family argument, but draw your own conclusions. Nonetheless, we now live in a time where progressive officials do everything in their power to get criminals out of jail, despite the amount of harm those people have caused to innocent individuals, and society will never recover from that.
