Cincinnati's woke police chief embarrassed the badge one time too many, causing the city council to have to take action

If there’s one thing the City of Cincinnati has done as of late, it’s putting Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge on administrative leave. You don’t have to be a legal expert to understand that she has done nothing for the city’s crime problem — and if I didn’t know any better, I might even say things have gotten worse under her watch. However, I do know better, so that is neither here nor there.
JUST IN: Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge has been placed on administrative leave “pending an internal investigation on the effectiveness of her leadership.”
The move comes after Theetge said criminals need to “learn how to behave” after two people were shot.

"The City continues to face serious public safety challenges that underscore the need for stability at the command level. Therefore, I’ve named Assistant Chief Adam Hennie as Interim Police Chief," City Manager Sheryl Long said in a statement. "Our focus remains on maintaining stability within the department and ensuring the highest standards of service to our residents.
When she became chief, Theetge spoke at length about addressing ongoing gun violence, as well as officer wellness and recruiting. Those three items continued to be top issues in Cincinnati during her tenure.
While police data showed that shootings are down within city limits, data from the summer also showed that crime reports in downtown Cincinnati were on the rise. That includes home burglaries, hundreds of vehicle break-ins and a violent August fight that garnered national attention.
After a shooting last week in the downtown area, Theetge told the cameras that people best “behave” if they even think about going over there. But call me crazy — I highly doubt giving criminals and juvenile, wannabe thugs a stern finger-pointing will do anything to decrease the rise in gun violence, burglaries, or break-ins — but that’s just a hunch. I could be wrong, and maybe all these people need is to be spoken to like children to learn that “no means no.”
This comes after her scolding the media and assigning blame to netizens for things that happened under her watch.
In July, two people were violently attacked by a group of thugs — that video went viral. Her response, as you may recall, was to scold the media for not depicting the full story, despite no context being needed for such an event.
According to the Cincinnati Enquirer:
Seen in one of the videos is a group of people striking one man until he falls to the ground as they continue to punch and kick him. Shortly after, another man is seen punching a woman in the face, causing her to fall to the ground, where she remained motionless until a person helped pick her back up.
Theetge also blamed social media and the mainstream media for distorting what happened and making it more difficult to investigate. When asked by a reporter what was distorted, the chief said, "It just shows one side of the equation without context."
While she claims the video lacked context, and she scolded everyone and their grandmas for failures under her watch, not much more information is needed when you realize it was a bunch of people against one. You don’t need context to know something is not right there.
While it took far too many people getting hurt for the city to realize what a complete and total failure Theetge is, it’s about time they did what needed to be done. Because, as they say, history repeats itself, and it was only a matter of time before another viral incident happened under her watch — and a stern finger-pointing was to follow. And while we can confidently assume she’s done nothing to significantly reduce crime in the city, at least she is gone… for now.
