Catholic Television Network Scores Victory Against Obamacare Birth Control Mandate

Corey Stallings
December 04, 2018

The Magisterium in the Catholic Church isn't all too keen on followers of Big Jeezy using artificial birth control methods. This has led to problems between the Church and the left, with their grudge against babies being born.

Under Obamacare, certain businesses are required to provide birth control to their employees. Catholics view that as a violation of their conscience. According to the left, they should just suck it up and get in line.

Well, the Catholic television network, EWTN, just scored a yuge win in court:

After a seven-year legal battle America's largest religious media company no longer faces the prospect of violating its faith to comply with Obamacare's contraception mandate.

The 11th Circuit Court of Appeals approved a settlement agreement between the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), a station founded by Catholic nun Mother Angelica of the Annunciation and the Department of Health and Human Services. The court tossed a 2016 court order that would have forced the organization to comply with Obamacare's mandated healthcare coverage of birth control and abortifacients prohibited by the Catholic Church.

"It shouldn't take years to prove the obvious: you can't tell a religious media network to say one thing and do another. We are grateful that—finally—EWTN no longer has to worry about being forced to choose between massive fines and following our faith."

This decision is pretty much a no-brainer. It doesn't matter whether you follow Jehovah, Allah, or L. Ron, the government doesn't have the right to force religious folk to violate their consciences. End of story.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." Lefties only seem to recognize the first part. They ignore the other part about the government taking a hike and letting the religious decide where their morals lie.

Chalk up another victory at destroying the craptastic legacy of Barry Hussein. The Constitution is still the supreme law of the land. Thank God.
