All humans have intrinsic value worthy of life. The Canadian government, however, disagrees with this. This is why they legalized a law that “euthanized” a 26-year-old man with seasonal depression.

His parents are now speaking out against the doctor, claiming she was “coaching him,” adding that she was testing “what she can approve him for and what she can get away with approving him for.”

According to the Post Millennial:

Vafaeian had Type 1 diabetes since age four. His mother, Margaret Marsilla, said his depression intensified after a car accident at 17 and worsened again in 2022 after he lost vision in one eye. That’s when, she said, he became fixated on MAID.

These are not reasons to end one’s life. This is a reason for him to get treatment and realize his life is still worth living. The government does a disservice to these people, and it’s reprehensible that they would rather give up on them, treating them worse than dogs.

“He kept on emphasizing about how he could get approved,” Marsilla said. “We never thought there would be a chance that any doctor would approve a 22- or 23-year-old at that time for MAID because of diabetes or blindness.”

This is the problem with leftism. These people believe it’s compassionate to affirm mental illness rather than have sufferers get the help they painfully deserve. This is not humanity; it’s an anti-human sentiment that is killing people.

In 2022, a Toronto physician initially approved his request. After the family launched a public campaign opposing it, the doctor reversed course. Marsilla said her son later showed improvement and moved back in with family in 2024.

“He tried his best when he was in one of those good highs of life,” she said. “Then winter, fall started coming around, he started changing and then everything that we had worked for from spring and summertime just disappeared… he would start talking about MAID again.”

The doctor and the government need to be held accountable for these crimes against humanity. Only the left can turn a system that was once focused on saving and helping lives into destroying them, while still calling that “healthcare.”

The fact that the left has turned healthcare from a system that once facilitated care into one that now facilitates death is not progress — it’s a social regression that twists compassion into legalized killing. The fact that so many people support this as if it is morally superior is deeply concerning. This man deserved treatment, not a system that ended his life. The system needs to be fixed before the government and doctors end more vulnerable lives under the false guise of medical care.

It is utterly and totally wrong.
