NEW: Boise mayor Lauren McLean appears to be on the verge of tears as she is forced to remove a Pride flag outside of City Hall.
The LGBTQers then sang a sad song as the flag was lowered.

Governor Brad Little signed House Bill 561, which limits what flags may be flown on public property. If it is not “the American flag, state flags, official military flags, recognized tribal flags, and the official flag of an Idaho university or college,” then the state mandates it must be removed. This is why Boise City Hall was forced to remove its flag dedicated to people’s sexual preferences, and the mayor just could not handle it.
Mayor Lauren McLean ordered the city to remove the Pride Flag that was being flown at City Hall. She did this not because she believes the city should have no opinion on matters regarding bedroom preferences, but because it was required of her to do so by state law.
According to BoiseDev:
This bill is a narrower version of what Rep. Heather Scott, R-Blanchard, brought last year, but it includes financial penalties for any cities in violation of the law of $2,000 per day. Hill said this bill was in response to McLean continuing to fly the pride flag after the city designated it an official city flag following 2025 legislation banning any flags with ideological associations, which he equated to giving “a middle finger” to the Idaho Legislature.
These people are so pathetic. The city should have zero opinions on affirming people's sexual preferences. Not only is it inappropriate, but it has nothing to do with local government. And in their little pathetic pursuit to be inclusive, they actually end up excluding the majority of residents, as they affirm insignificant things from a fraction of the population.
In a Tuesday afternoon press release, McLean noted the city’s long-standing tradition of displaying the pride flag during Pride Month in June and her plans to continue the local government’s support for the LGBTQ community.
“This law seeks to erase both the values we hold dear and people who are integral to the fabric of our community,” she said. “We will continue to celebrate the vibrancy of our community, the diversity of our residents, and our North Star of being a safe and welcoming city for everyone.”
It does not erase anything because there was nothing to erase in the first place. This legislation affects no one, and it is ridiculous that the mayor was on the verge of fake terms, in a pathetic pursuit of whatever this is.
