The left claims they are all in it for criminal justice reform. They justify those claims by pretending the system is racist. But rather than make everyone better off, while upholding public safety, all they have done is jeopardize everyone’s safety. This is why Trump did what they couldn't do.

Chris Young was sentenced to life in prison after he got his third felony drug charge. He served ten years in jail under the three-strikes law. He was granted clemency by President Donald Trump in 2021. Because Trump gave him a new chance at life, he will be graduating from Southern Methodist University with a degree in economics and public policy.

According to NBC 5:

Young grew up in Clarksville, Tennessee, where he said poverty shaped many of the decisions he made as a teenager.

“When you're living on the suffocating levels of poverty, you're just thinking about how I can get out of this,” Young said. “The only thing you're thinking about is I need some money.”

By his teens, Young had been arrested twice. He later "began selling drugs."

While there are times when people ought to be held accountable for their crimes, there is also a place for grace. Trump saw that and gave this man another shot, and, according to Young, he is using his past to motivate his success.

“Your past is not to hinder you, it is to propel you, and the future is not to scare you, it is to motivate you,” he said. “This Chris wouldn't exist without that Chris.”

What is comical is that these types of stories are what the left pretends will come to fruition if society sticks to reformative justice. The problem, however, is that the left lets out people who have been accused of the worst crimes, while they couldn't care less about stories like this.

These are the kinds of people the left fights for.

Trump fought to give Young another chance. One of these things is not like the other.

So, while the left would like it if you believed they are creating a world where people like Young become productive members of society, that could not be further from the truth. While Trump gave an arguably deserving man another shot, the left is out there releasing scum back into the public. One of these things jeopardizes public safety, while one does not.
