If you're like me, you spent your extended weekend doing a little Hell Yeah Brothering. Grilling meat, crushing Claws, and otherwise disconnecting from the news like a normal person would. Though apparently some people got upset that there was a pool party in the Ozarks. Which, as an aside, if you're a member of the New York media and/or live in New York and are angrier at people living their best lives in Missoura than you are at Gov. Cuomo turning NY nursing homes into killing fields, you need to shut the f*** up.

But normal people enjoyed themselves to the fullest extent their state is currently allowing them to. So you may have missed Dr. Fauci saying on Friday that the stay-at-home orders could cause "irreparable damage" to the economy. Yes, THAT Dr. Fauci. Yes, THOSE stay-at-home orders. You look confused right now, so here is President Portnoy to help make sense of things.

Again, nothing but respect for MY El Presidente!

Here's the rub. When it comes to viruses and infectious diseases, you should listen to the infectious disease expert more than the owner of a sports website. Or at least, should be able to. President Portnoy's rant speaks to the confusion and frustration spread throughout the country. I heard it at the party on a block I went to over the weekend. To be clear, it wasn't a "block party" since those are currently illegal. It was just a party on a block, where groups of no more than ten were hanging out in front of each house. Please don't call the police. Or send screen captures to the Town, which is apparently something that snitch-@$ b!tches have been doing.

At this party on the block, everyone was echoing a lot of what President Portnoy is saying. The facts that are constantly changing. The arbitrary guidelines over which businesses are allowed to open and which aren't. The "experts" contradicting other experts. Worst of all, no one knows when their kids are going to be allowed back to school. None of these were MAGA people. None were Q people. No one was whining about their liberties being stripped away because they have to wear a mask to buy toilet paper. These were mostly apolitical people who did what was asked and what they thought was the right thing, even as the "right thing" kept changing.

Now they're all wondering what the deuce for, since the people who were supposed to know, that we were counting on to know, never seemed to actually know. What happens next time, only when/if things are actually as bad as advertised and not just grossly exaggerated? We already know who not to believe, and it's all of the people we're supposed to believe.
