Angelina Jolie Gets it...Here's What She Said about ISIS and Rape Culture
"Rape culture" is all the rage on the left. Rage as in they love to beat the drum of it, and also because it makes them enraged. Puns. Anyway, because "rape culture" is the new trendy thing, liberal celebrities want to latch on to it. Kind of like how they used to adopt babies from all over everywhere. Never mind that the two big "rape culture" stories are as real as Joe Biden's hair, and most other stories make as much sense as Joe Biden's words. No, showing that you care about "rape culture" demonstrates how open mindedly tolerent and pro-woman you are. Like Joe Biden.
Actual rape culture? Like the kind perpetrated by ISIS? Only Angelina Jolie seems to care...
Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie warned on Tuesday that Islamic State was using rape as a weapon of war on a scale never seen before and called for greater action against those responsible.
Jolie, a special envoy of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and active campaigner against the use of sexual violence in conflict, said Islamic State was using rape as a “policy” and urged a “very strong response”.
Thousands of women and girls have been abducted, raped and sold into sexual slavery by Islamic State since the militant group declared a caliphate across swathes of Syria and Iraq last summer, according to the United Nations and rights groups.
She called ISIS the most "aggressive terrorist group in the world today" and that they are using rape "as a centerpoint of their terror and their way of destroying communities and families." And she's absolutely right. Kudos, Ms. Jolie. Major kudos.
ISIS using rape in their culture of evil? Yes. Horny college frat guys? Not so much.
Maybe like the baby-from-other-countries trend, Jolie will be a trailblazer here. Madonna, you want to say a few words about ISIS? We're all ears. Really, when other celebs want to chime in on real crimes, we're listening.
