WATCH: Former Twitter Executive Swears He Isn't Biased, But Congressman Hits Him With the Receipts
Earlier today, the House held a hearing with Twitter executives over the suppression of the infamous Hunter Biden laptop story. You know, the "hacked" story riddled with "Russian disinformation" about how President Biden was involved with Hunter's shady business dealings. That turned out to be 100% authentic. Oopsies.
Yoel Roth, Twitter’s former global head of trust and security, was in attendance. Rep. Pat Fallon questioned Mr. Roth on whether he thinks he has a political bias. Roth obviously said no. To which Rep. Fallon replied, "You compared...using Twitter, people that worked in the Trump White House to Nazis."
Roth must've missed the board behind Fallon with the Nazi tweet in question on display. That definitely falls into "personal bias" territory.
\u201c.@RepPatFallon: "Mr. Roth, do you personally think you have a political bias?"\n\nROTH: "No, sir."\n\nFALLON: "You compared...using Twitter, people that worked in the Trump White House to Nazis."\u201d— Daily Caller (@Daily Caller) 1675886792
You may remember Roth from one of the first batches of Twitter files that exposed Roth as a key player in the decision to ban Donald Trump from the platform. Roth was apparently meeting weekly with the FBI to discuss tweets related to the 2020 election.
He also published a dissertation that seemed to argue in favor of gay minors using Grindr. Where they could potentially interact with gay adults. Which is - ahem - illegal. But Roth got a Ph.D. out of it, so that means we all have to listen to everything he says without question. He has letters by his name, after all.
Shockingly, he wasn't fired from Twitter. He actually quit all on his own after scary Elon Musk took over. He wrote in a NY Times op-ed, "A Twitter whose policies are defined by edict has little need for a trust and safety function dedicated to its principled development.”
Apparently, "principled development" means "meeting weekly with the FBI to censor Americans while pretending we don't censor Americans and convincing them it's all in their heads." Oh, and calling your political opponents Nazis. Very principled.
