Not too long ago, the First Partner of California, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, scolded reporters because they questioned Gov. Gavin Newsom on things unrelated to funding Planned Parenthood. They likely did this because there are far more important things going on in the State than giving more funds to “choices.” It turns out, however, the reason she felt so passionate about this was not about genuine “values” regarding women's “rights” and their “choices,” but may have something to do with ranking “in up to $300,000 annually through her nonprofit, The Representation Project, and for-profit outfit Girls Club Entertainment.”

According to the organization's website, “No matter who you are or where you live, intersectional gender stereotypes are hurting you and those you love. Through film, education, and activism, The Representation Project awakens consciousness, spotlights the cost of these stereotypes, and invites everyone to build a more equitable future.”

I hardly doubt this organization has awoken “consciousness,” but that is neither here nor there. Nonetheless, bashing masculinity, spreading lies about a gender pay gap that does not exist, and promoting abortion do not boost academic excellence.

According to the California Post, “Siebel Newsom leaned on her powerful hubby and his education board to push preachy flicks about 'toxic masculinity' into classrooms, casting her husband as an enlightened Democratic savior,” while she allegedly profited from this.

Newsom is featured as a humble-bragging talking head in Siebel Newsom’s films “Miss Representation” and “The Great American Lie” alongside a cadre of lefty activists, Democratic politicians and academics hammering viewers with progressive totems like raising the minimum wage as a cure for gender inequity.

What’s more, Newsom’s own Department of Education shilled his wife’s documentaries in official state guidelines — after the Representation Project bragged in a 2014 tax filing that its films and “curricula” were used in 1,000 California public schools.

Interestingly, California ranks poorly in standardized tests, especially in reading and math. Currently, it stands at 30th overall.

According to CalMatters, “Simply put, California’s education system is not only behind most other states, but even trails those that Newsom and other Californians consider to be culturally backward. Moreover, California schools have not yet recovered from the educational losses suffered during the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Maybe, just maybe, if the First Partner stopped focusing on invisible things that do not exist, like toxic masculinity and gender inequity, schools could focus more on math and reading. Considering, though, that Math is racist, this is the best the state can do — and to call it pathetic would be an understatement.
