Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer just said the quiet part out loud over why Democrats want to stop the SAVE Act from passing. According to him, passing the bill would allow ICE to remove “tens of billions of people” from the voter rolls. And because the bill would require proof of citizenship to register to vote for federal elections, common sense would tell you that is the point. The fact that the left has a problem with this confirms what you already knew.

According to the Daily Caller:

“[T]heir bill isn’t voter ID … It is about voter registration. It allows ICE to kick tens of billions of people off the rolls, off the rolls,” Schumer said. “And they don’t tell them until election day and you show up and you say, ‘You’re not registered anymore, you’re not registered here. You’re not on the rolls.’ And they say, ‘I didn’t know that.’ This is a bill that destroys the country.”

While he argues that this would "destroy the country,” the sensible side believes the opposite, and that this needs to be done to ensure people are who they say they are when it comes to our federal elections. The fact that this is controversial among the left tells you all you need to know.

If I did not know any better, I might say that they want noncitizens voting in our elections. I do know better, so I will say that.

“And it is not about showing ID when you show up to vote. It’s about the voter registration rolls — destroying them, purging them, not letting people know and taking the rights in an algorithm put together by ICE, put together by DOGE [Department of Government Efficiency] and [Elon] Musk,” he continued. “It’s an outrage. And that’s why so many people don’t want to pass it.”

If so many people don't want it to be passed, why do so many Americans want the bill to be passed? The only ones speaking out against this are Democratic officials. In fact, even his own base believes otherwise.

The best excuse the left can come up with is that this has a thing or two to do with skin color. In reality, though, the numbers don't lie.

According to CNN, “85% of white people favor it, 82% of Latinos, and 76% of black Americans favor it.” So, when Schumer claims the people don't want it, what he really means is he does not want it, as common-sense voter laws jeopardize the chances of the left ever holding power again.

As Harry Enten previously said, the numbers prove “Voter ID is not controversial in this country. A photo ID to vote is not controversial in this country.” The only controversial thing about this is why the Democrats pretend such a logical bill could destroy this nation. This is because the left is not here to play fair; they are not here to play by the rules, and they certainly are not here to represent you. If they were, they would be doing everything in their power to secure elections, but they are doing the opposite of that, as they fight to destroy the integrity of this nation's voting rolls.

To call that a threat to democracy would be an UNDERSTATEMENT.
