Why does it seem like the left only pretends to fight for religious freedom when it is not Christianity? Could it be because everything the left stands for is rooted in an anti-Biblical worldview? Methinks yes — and so does Democrat Rep. Karen Whitsett.

Whitsett, a current state lawmaker in Michigan, has announced she will not be running for reelection because everything the left stands for contradicts her Christian faith.

According to The Post Millennial:

"I will not be seeking re-election for this office, and I will not be running for any office ever again. This is not a political calculation—it’s a spiritual decision," per WDIV.

"Michigan State Representative Bradley Slagh (R–85th District) said something that convicted me: ‘You’re to vote your district, but you’re not to sell your soul.’ In the end, I have to answer to God."

"For me, it is impossible to be a faithful follower of Jesus Christ while remaining a member of the Democratic Party as it exists today. I cannot reconcile that platform with Scripture." She added, "I have compromised my relationship with Jesus for too long, and I’m grateful God did not give up on me. He gave me time to repent, turn, and be fully devoted to Him."

Several things caused her concern. This included abortion, same-sex marriage, and most importantly, the attempted destruction of gender. You don't have to be a Christian to understand that all of that is, in fact, evil.

Everything the left does is rooted in sin. From transing the kids to open borders, there is no in-between. It is not possible to be rooted in faith while also promoting the left’s platform. This is because, according to the left, the government is God. They believe they are the deciders of moral truth, and they hate everything about Christianity. This is why everything they do feels like a direct attack on your values and faith.

The left has no values, which is why they constantly change their platform goals by the day. This is also why we have the saying, "the only standards the left has are double standards.”

That said, can Whitsett please have a conversation with James Talarico? Because that man has largely missed the mark.
